Kitchen Compost Containers

I would like to find a container that goes under the sink, holds 3-5 gallons, is fruit fly proof, and has a foot pedal to open the lid. Can’t find!


I use a 4 gallon foot pedal stainless trash container with hard plastic liner that is removable, but fruit flies enter in summer, and after one year, the foot pedal has broken. I want something that works and lasts and isn’t expensive!

I don’t understand why people want dinky counter-top containers that have to be emptied almost daily (or maybe those people don’t feed their families fruits and vegetables?). We empty our container in an outdoor composter once a week on average.
